If Someone From Another Country Comes Here

to visit, and then starts working in discrete from home i.e beauty parlour, cash in hand, no tax. Is this illegal? and who do you report it to, because quite frankly its getting on my nerves now, theres this woman thats only been here for 11 years, and now she has called her sister over to visit for 6 months, and her sister is working from home as a beautician, no qualifications whatsoever, and making money, but not paying anything out of it i.e N.I Tax!!! and she is not allowed to work here.

Im not being a nosy so and so, im just annoyed, coz its people like these that have run us into the ground, and it has to stop, people need to stop covering for illegal immigrants.

if you feel the need to report this person get in touch with hm customs...
Do you know for sure that the sister does not have a working visa or indeed qualifications? My sisters ex is an auzzie and they used to do six months here and six months there and both of them worked in both countries so I guess there's a chance it might notbe illegal.

what makes you think that she's
a. not allowed to live here
b. isn't paying and NI/ Tax etc

If she's an EU citizen she can live here, if she's from somewhere else probably not but you're hardly likely to know at which stage any application to stay might be at. Some people are permitted to work, some not, and I don't actually agree that it's working immigrants ( legal or illegal) that is running the country into the ground, any market that moves money around has to be good, and ought to be encouraged, in fact i'm all for anyone who has made an application to stay being allowed to work- and if they start a successful business being allowed to stay automatically.
Where is this lady originally from?
Dangerous, rozia, if you do not have solid proof......
and just wait until all the Greek beauty parlours open up....

shes from Pakistan, i know she has a visitors visa, but i went round the other day, and she was working, had about 3 clients waiting for her, i told her she mustn't do this, she said who'll know....
I feel even more annoyed at a woman who is not an immigrant but professes to be able to see into the future and is running a business telling fortunes from her rented council house to anyone stupid enough to believe her. She is making a mint of money (cash in hand) and no income tax etc. She has been doing this for several years and people still go there in spite of the fact that she tells them something different each time they go and does not notice they have been there before. I hasten to add, not me, just what others have told me.
Get ready for a slander suit.

or you can take Maveric's advice.

yeah people that are not immigrants do it also......no need to slander anyone, just a civilised discussion.......it frustrates me, but what can we do, if no one else agrees the same
-- answer removed --
I would just say something you heard does not comprise solid proof..and you are the one open to slander. However, HMRC are there, if you wish.....

not a slap on the back and well done, just advice as to whether i should report it......and to where, i got that now, thanks
no slander suits necessary, you can report them in confidence if you wish and let the authorities sort out if she's legal or not.
Its not so easy to do alternate 6 monthly visits for long as the visa may be removed after a few visits.
If she's only here for six months leave her be - at least she's trying to pay her way. Your criticism about the woman only being here for 11 years then calling her sister over for 6 months seems unreasonable to me - one six month visit in 11 years....whats the problem?
