Woke up to sunshine and now it is absolutely pouring down!! Cannot believe there is any rain left in the sky - so depressing. On a positive note winter will look quite good compared to this appalling summer.

You and me both. I was going to get some garden chores done today. Not this weekend it seems. Even though there is a pause now everything out there is damp/wet.
Not raining here at the moment (North Norfolk) but don't hold out any hope for later today. It's been an appalling Summer. The only summer we had was back in March!! Son is getting married next Saturday.............. I am just hoping for a non rainy day!!
Garden is soggy and full of slugs and snails (and puppy dog tails!!) It's so disheartening. I find myself looking forward to autumn (it will more than likely be hot then)
Lottie, may congratulations to son and future DIL.
Hope the sun shines on all of you.

It is really getting beyond a joke with this rain.

I was going to spend a few hours in the garden but no hope of that.
Maybe you will be lucky next weekend LL, but whatever the weather am sure they will have a lovely day.
Thanks Alba xx
I think the gardens are getting too much rain. My lovely yellow standard rose, which my friend bought me on the day of my Mum's funeral last year, now has rust mildew on it (I googled it) I am very sad, as this rose was flourishing and looked beautiful. {:o(
By the way, its been raining from early this morning and hasn't stopped here in Hornchurch Essex. I think I just saw an ark float by with people on it not animals {:o((

My flowers are ruined too - my hanging baskets are just battered and very sorry looking, and I have slungs the size of sausages in the garden, i took a pic of one I just could not believe the size - I swear it had wellies on!
My roses are really suffering Towie. Going brown soggy and falling off before they have a chance to open.
I have just picked enough snails off my tubs to feed an army with garlic snails!! (I am not going to eat them!!)

Slugs, not slungs!!
Sorry, I must remember you are SMowball!!
Smow - they most probably were slugs to start of with, but now they are so full of rain they have turned into 'slungs'.....hahaha

Hiya Lottie - I know my rose heads are full of water and just hanging. I keep cutting them off to encourage new growth for when that yellow circle in the sky does show its face {:o(
I too was going to do some gardening, I haven't had the chance since the bit of Sun we had in spring, it's that boggy though it could be mistaken for the Everglades (minus the Sun)

Although a break from the rain in West Yorkshire it does look like it will pour down this afternoon.
Hi D. I know, I keep doing the same!!
Started off quite nice here, (near Dover) this morning but have just had rain of Biblical proportions, i was about 200yds from home when it started, coming back with the dogs, suprised myself how quick I moved considering I have a bus pass.
;o)

LL, do you live in Norfolk too?

Yes and my poor roses are just sadly drooping too : (
pouring all morning here in Romford too. My cousins daughter gets married in Tiptree today, at 3.00 so I'm hoping they have some sunshine.
When is it going to shine again, want to go off camping x
My blue slug pellets have done a grand job in our tubs so far, but they are turning to paste in this rain. I can only hope they stay effective till I can add fresh pellets when it's dry again.
