Going to a wedding tomorrow up the Yorkshire Dales and the reception will be held in a marquee. Does anyone know if these things are heated or will I have to wear a thermal vest under my posh frock?

I think that you may need your thermals on, leahbee. Do you have some to match the posh frock ?.
Don't forget the wellies.

Oh dear shoota what have I let myself in for.
electric blanket as a coat and a beany ,put a couple of feathers in it and people will think it's a fascinator lol
Furry drawers required
I was in the dales last week and the ground was very very wet.
Where is the wedding?
BBC forecast for Skipton tomorrow: heavy rain all day, high 5 degrees, low 1 degrees. Complete wetsuit called for by the sound of it.

Thank you all for your comments
The wedding is at St. Chad's Church Middlesmoor.
The thing is that I really paid more than I could afford for the frock so I am determined to wear it no matter what. Can't even wear long johns.

Please somebody tell me that there will be plenty of heaters and what will be on the floor, because I have some very snazzy high heel shoes as well.
These Yorkshire farmers must be very hardy souls to arrange a wedding in Oct. In the middle of a field.

Sorry it's November is'nt it.
You could always ask the hosts, but contractors normally install hot air heaters for such events at this time of year. But you'll still freeze outside the tent, coming and going, so thermals are a must.
last marquee i was in, was for an xmas do, there were heaters and flooring down, plus if there are lots of people there, that will raise the temp as well
only for the ones in the middle, fluff. Thermal imaging will show the centre of the tent red but the fringes going pale blue as hangers-on slowly freeze and drop off.
lool, leah will need to make sure she is in the middle, surrounded by admirers to keep her warm :-)

Thank you all.I do not like to bother the hosts as they will probably have enough to think about.
I will let you know how I got on when I come home on Sunday, that's if I have'nt got flu!!!!!!

Well I went to the wedding in the dales at the weekend and even though I had on my thermal vest I was really ,really cold. We had freezing temperatures, hail and heavy rain. The coach did'nt come to take us down the dale until 12.30am and it was such a relief to get on it.
Having said that it was a beautiful wedding in a quaint little church with a vicar who told jokes.
The views from the church was spectacular as was the scenery all the way up the dale with the beautiful autumn colour. I will go back in summer and explore more, we have some lovely places in England which I am sure are as special as anywhere in the world.
The Dales in summer are one long traffic queue and full of grockles.
Spring and Autumn are the optimum times but even so, avoid high days and holidays.
Southern softies!

What is grockles please, never heard of it.
