Thanks , we are monitoring it minute by minute, it is horrendous. Our road network is in melt down and we have lost many trees, At this stage I am scared witless . I don't cope well with extreme weather... daresay I am not alone feeling this tonight . I hope it burns itself out soon .

Don't know if this is of any help to you in keeping abreast of the situation:

Hope you saw the night out without further mishap flump, as I do all other AB'ers in similar distress.
The storm was horrendous, i hope it leaves off today.
Calm here this morning after a noisy night - just pouring with rain now.
been up all night as satellite dish blown off its bracket and kept smashing into the wall now its wrapped around the phone lines attached to the roof!
crazy weather
Keep safe, Flump. I lived there in the 70s, both my kids are corkheads.
I really hope you will be ok Flump.
We lived there until 2001, opposite Seaclose Park, I think it was '83 storms that scared us, panes from the greenhouse blowing around, losing the panels off the conservatory roof, and so on.
Stay safe.
Hope everything is calm on the Isle of Wight today, flump. You live in a lovely place. Mr. c. and I have been there several times for our holidays.

Thank you all, it has passed and it is much calmer today. We are now doing a clean up operation . I help out in a charity shop and I caught an amphibious bus today. The water came in the bus door and up the aisle to soak my feet before I knew what was happening. Floods everywhere, however while many people have had their homes flooded while they slept, no casualties were reported. Blooming weather. I hope folk on the mainland stayed safe. xx
There was a fatality in the next village to us yesterday afternoon. She had apparently gone out to inspect the water. I'm glad you're safe flump. Happy Christmas to you.
