Strange School Uniform

Was up in London yesterday and saw some schoolgirls with a full floor length school skirt. It was a kind of plaid/tartan purple/blue/red mix. I think their jacket was maroonish.
Who would be wearing such an outfit these days? They weren't Muslim girls.

Mini Boo's school uniform has a tartan skirt as well, though it's normally knee length.

Stamford School & Bourne Grammar School girls wear ankle-length skirts. They look so much nicer than the ultra-mini skirts, not much deeper than belts, worn by some girls.

Dundee High School schoolgirls wear a dark tartan pleated skirt - below the knee. Worn with a navy blazer they always look smart.

Thanks DSJ, had a look at their websites but it wasn't them, and probably not from Dundee (maggiebee). Will have to live in ignorance.
Should just have asked them at the time.

There's a couple of schools in Bishops Stortford where the girls where floor length plaid skirts - one of them is maroon but I'm not sure of the name!
