I've just fitted a new kitchen. The room is about 5m square. It has terractta colour floor tiles, oak cabinets, black worktop and earthy coloured wall tiles. Has one window with average light. Any ideas for wall and ceiling colours?

From your description, it sounds as though it could do with a bit of lightening up. A nice warm cream would complement all the other colours without clashing....something along the lines of Buttermilk (i.e. a yellowish tinge, rather than brown or pink).

Personally I would do both the walls and ceing in the same light colour, otherwise you've got a lot going on in a smallish space. Happy painting!
