Really hope that the reports are right and that he was killed. Just imagine the drawn-out trial and appeals etc., etc.. The publicity value of all this would have been gold-dust to ISIL.

Closure has been given to at least one relative of the men he slaughtered.
One evil man less in the world, just a few more to go! Glad Britain helped in the operation.

While no one will shed a tear for the passing of this wahhabi nutcase (if reports of his death are true), he was an extremist fanatic but we are supposed to be civilised and better than him. Blowing him to bits, though fitting, was the wrong way for us to behave.

Truly pathetic. The prisons are already beginning to swell with terrorists, why on earth would we have wanted to waste millions in manhunt and capture and subsequent hundreds of thousands in a trial and 30 + years of prison time? Eradicate vermin at a fraction of the cost and give the remainder to Children in Need, far more fitting.
Given what he's done it was absolutely the right way to behave.
I really do wonder at times which planet you reside on Gromit, but then I always have.
Perhaps you should have taken the trouble to read Gromit's second post, where he retracted his first one?
Not really, he's a mod and has been prone to alter a thread/delete a post to suit his own ends in the past so I'll let my post stand, thanks all the same Jim.
Fair enough.

I don't mourn his passing. It would have been preferable, but completely impractical, to see him stand trial. As it is, a dangerous man has been got rid of but it's largely symbolic, rather than effective, in dealing with the threat he and others posed.

Not true.
