Little boy age six having really negative reports from school ,not paying attention, talking in class ,not doing set work,reading not good, not interested in maths etc,at home this little boy has read over 70 books can read and play music,and is interested in square roots,the universe, and constantly looking things up on Google ,on one occasion. Whilst in London informed his mum the Thames was once named Isis, his parents are at a loss on way forward in his education the school admits they have never come across a child like him what do others think the way forward is best

I think he's too bright for the class he is in. His education is not challenging enough so he gets bored and loses interest. Could you suggest to his school that they move him up one year?

While not a great reader,my daughter was very much like that at the same age. Except for a dedicated head mistress, most teachers threw up their hands in frustration. We ended up putting her into a small preparatory school where the teachers gave her time and she got individual attention. She was eventually diagnosed with mild dyslexia and went on to thrive, but had to work hard to get decent grades.

He will wake up in middle of the night to ask his mum has he spelt this word correctly ,then go back to sleep x

I'd agrees with the lack of challenge thing. The middle of the night thing is more a case of teaching that this is not the done thing; and to leave questions until the morning.

Unsure what to suggest re schooling; talk to the school maybe, perhaps even the education authority. If money isn't an issue then as Retro suggest, private education is a possibility. Or maybe Pasta's experience is the way to go.

Being diagnosed and Statemented as Dyslexic does not guarantee much help in the Education System. Anyway, a child being able to read 70 books, read music and even spell correctly is a good indication they are NOT dyslexic. This is from experience of having a child with severe Dyslexia.

He sounds very bright but he also sounds like he is challenging adults and as well as addressing his educational needs he perhaps needs to be guided in the correct way to conduct himself at school and at home. Often bright kids do 'take the P' as they think they are better than their contemporaries (even at an early age)

had a chat to his mum today and mentioned your comments unfortunately they as many others a family with limited funds the little boy who i have known since birth is a polite, well mannered and quite sensitive overall not a child who would play adults, its like his brain never shuts down and needs knowledge you cannot read him a fairy tale story as he questions the logic behind it facts he understands a lot better , but mostly his parents try to keep him as a normal little boy and do 6 year old things with him , but he comes alive when he has a mental challenge xx
