I don't normally seek advice on here but have had this problem for 10 days now and can't get an appointment for another 2 weeks.

I have this urge constantly to pass water. When I go I immediately feel the desire to go again but little, if anything, passes. I have no pain, just an uncomfortable feeling. I'm thinking infection, prostate, cancer &c. Anything to put my mind at ease till I see the GP?

...p.s. I'm a 66 year old male.
Sounds like a water infection. They are the symptoms I get with cystitis along with stinging if it doesn't get treated.
Is there a way to arrange to take a urine sample to the surgery until you can be checked by the GP?
This also could be an ageing problem as well, which my doctor told me when I had it and still do.

My urine sample was tested OK, but I would still get it checked out.

Over three weeks to get an appointment is disgusting.
Aged 66...urgency to pass urine, the first and commonest thing that comes to mind is an enlarged prostate........not malignant, but enlarged.

Why would a male of 66years of age get a urinary infection?. Very unlikely diagnosis.

Keep drinking plenty and providing you do not get abdominal pain, then a two week appt should be fine.
However, if you do get abdominal distension, pain and difficulty in passing water, then go to A&E.

Thanks Sqad. I do try to drink as much as possible but perhaps it's the wrong stuff!
