ISIS is not the threat. It's a symptom of the threat and it's an exacerbator of the threat.
So what is the threat?
Totalitarian ideology.
"when have Israel NOT struck against Hamas ?"

at every possible opportunity hopefully...more often the better until they teach them a lesson and destroy them in the process..
“By all means”, yes why not. But UN should also make sure that in future no country creates terrorist groups like Al Qaeeda (anyone remember there used to be one?), ISIS, Boko Haram etc. No country should create these groups in the name of safeguarding “their interests”. Because yesterday it was Al Qaeeda, today is ISIS and tomorrow it will be called something else.

Also I hope UN make it sure that if the terrorists are born and are citizens of Belgium and then they kill people in France then Belgium should be bombed and not the innocent people in Syria.

I also hope that UN should be able to investigate that why are most of the hard core terrorists from Western countries.

I also do hope that UN should be able to ask questions that why a person like Blair who was involved in invading a country (Iraq) and was behind the killing of 100s of thousands of people can just say “Sorry I made a mistake”.

And finally I must admit that nothing what I said here will happen because UN is only for small countries and big countries do not give a damn about it.
V_E I don't think totalitarian ideology on its own ever hurt a fly. The methods used by some to try and implement it however.....
Gromit

//Obama, Cameron, Hollande et al, are frightened to death that Russia will reap all the rewards of any victory over ISIS. So belatedly they have joined in to salvage something.//

Changed your tune a bit now haven't you? Just a a few weeks ago I said good for Putin and if he puts Daesh back in its box he can reap the rewards.
You, I recall, scathingly asked what rewards he could expect for his maverick action. I didn't read your reply when I suggested a Syrian port to park his Mediterranean fleet in. He would be happy with that and all that comes with it.!
...aaaand so, back to the personalities rather than the grown up debate. Cheers for that Retrocop.

Keyplus is not wrong though is he.
We fund them with our generous social security handouts and housing policies. We protect them through our human rights lawyers and legal aid packages. Our own courts refuse to deport multi offenders, whilst happily deporting people who deserve to remain here.
Perhaps Russia should decide to carry out the recommendation issued by the UN to use 'All Means', and bomb Brussels, or Paris, or Bradford, or Leicester, Or London.
