Pitched roof
1 Answers
I have an extension across the rear of my house which currently has a flat roof. What i'd like to do is to go over it with a pitched tiled roof to match the rest of the house, its about 18ft x 10ft .Would need to put new timbers in for the roof support,All that i'm basically doing is going from theextension roof edge to a wall, obviously with a reasonable angle .Would i need any type of regs etc??>

It sounds unlikely from what you say, but asking costs nothing. Irrespective of the planning situation I think you will need Building Regulations approval because roof tiles are heavy and Building Control will wish to know that the existing structure, the support for the trusses and the trusses themselves are capable of supporting the additional weight.
