Stuff pears with bits of dried fruit - raisins, currants, sultanas. I add a bit of finely chopped stem ginger, (the type in jars, in syrup).
Melt the After Eights in a bowl over a pan of boiling water. Gradually stir in single cream until the mixture is of the consistency of a pouring sauce and pour over the pears. They were a favourite of my parents, quick and easy to do.
Of course you could use the sauce for any other dessert, it just seems to go well with pears.
