About 3 weeks ago I decided I would download W10 (from W7). Over 6 hours later it was still downloading, or frozen. As I had to go out I cancelled it. If I try again this weekend is it going to take the same length of time, or is there anything I can do to speed it up? Thanks.

No idea what the experience of others is, but the upgrade on my netbook took the best part of a day. It got there in the end.

This is an older thread that will give you some answers Boto. Plus your download speed will affect the time taken.
Why did you cancel it after 6 hours, it was probably still downloading it.

You are downloading the whole of Windows 10 to your computer and if your broadband is not that fast it could takes hours.

Set it to start in the evening then go to bed. It will probably be there by the morning.

Thanks for all your replies. I don't think my download speed is particularly slow but I will have another try this weekend and hope for the best!
It all depends on your internet connection download speed the faster the speed the quicker it will up date the old OS .There is really no way to speed up the process. If you are using wi fi to download it will be extremely slow .
