ok what I mean is that the gun mob think that we don't really understand why they must have guns and are therefore retarded. We actually do understand but do not agree with their reasoning, thus the impasse. Ask the gun lobby and they'll say arm everyone from birth with a handgun, uzi 9mm and rocket launcher and the whole world will be much safer as we would all nullify each others weaponry. I think the civilised world can see the folly of that. reasoning.

But by the same token we continually see people comparing the UK with the US as their justification for banning guns, and that simply is not a valid comparison. For instance I dont recall the last time anyone had a Bear in their back garden and if they did Plod would not be far away. Many parts of the US are remote, there is no law enforcement - you are on your own.
