Clearly getting a job has not crossed their tiny self centered minds. Now I know they are both not carrying a full load but surely anyone who cannot see the problem should not be walking the streets, let alone be responsible for children.

She claims they spend nothinng on drugs as they are both on prescription methadone.
hc
Then they must of been on drugs originally before getting methadone prescribed to try to help them off the habit I assume. Might just account for the alleged missing £24,000 that they can't provide receipts for to the Guernsey States.
Of course, but she is adamant none of the money went on drugs.
If someone won enough money to render them ineligible for benefits, and informed the DSS, how long would they be expected to live on it? Should they eke out the money at benefit levels or would thy be allowed a taste of the good life?
I am afraid most drug addicts could not lie straight in bed. They would say or do almost anything to get a fix or sympathy. They are wrecked more often than not and from my experience usually sell off half their prescribed methadone
dosage to other junkies.
That is to say not all addicts are unsuccessful in beating their problems with the aid of drug councelling and methadone.
//or would thy be allowed a taste of the good life?//
If I had a flat and bought children into the world which I couldn't afford because I didn't find work and it was paid for off the back of others who work and get taxed over and over on their wages then I would say these two were having a good life at other's expense.. My sons have never claimed benefits and one brings up two young girls. They struggle but exist comfortably and wouldn't waste money on cigarettes, excess booze or drugs. Their priority is their girls well being.
Still no sympathy with these scroungers.

I may add they pay their own rent from their wages. They can't afford to buy in London.
I notice earlier posts mention drugs. We probably all remember the murders in Ipswich a few years ago when young prostitutes were killed while working to fund their drug addiction. It must be terrible thing. If this couple are addicts they'd likely have had no thought of anything other than their next fix.
I think Sandy that there is some scale the authorities may use to deem if you have reduced savings/income in a sensible way or not.

For example, if you owned a home badly in need of repair those costs would be considered reasonable disposal - a cruise would not.
Your too tolerant Sandy. These people aRE just playing at life. They take what they can get wherever they can get it. They thrive on tolerance and understanding.
But can't work as they don't like it. Poor things. NOT.....
Lol, I think they are watching JK on the tv.

Dave.
Probably been on it Dave !
