hi ,i have purchased a asus desktop, on set up i opted for windows 10 to become active to which it loaded ,i now find all my desktop shortcuts have gone ive tried doing the norm getting on to barclays website then right click the mouse for save shortcut to desktop but that doesnt show theres no option to save as desktop ,as i had all my c/cards bank utilities plus alot more as shortcuts. its more than a little annoying anyone tell me how to get these back,browsers i/e /firefox/aol windows10 i/e11 apparently.

With most ( all?) browsers, and with most ( all?) versions of Windows, one of the easiest ways to put a website shortcut onto your desktop is to go to the relevant site and then reduce the size of your browser window slightly (by clicking on the overlapping squares at the top right), so that you can see some of the desktop as well. Then click- and- drag the symbol...

Then click-and-drag the symbol which appears immediately to the left of 'www' (in the browser's address bar), pulling it onto the desktop. Job done.

However I wouldn't want my desktop cluttered up with internet shortcuts anyway. That's what bookmarks are for!
