Tablet Computers
13 Answers
I think I may have asked this question before, but it was some time ago so I expect the advice may have changed. I'm thinking about getting a tablet computer; what would you recommend? Price isn't a major factor, as I'd expect to keep it for some time, though I don't want to break the bank... I'm currently using a desktop running windows 7, recently brought up to date by computer-savvy son, and I have a Samsung Galaxy smart phone which is due for an upgrade in a couple of weeks; I'd like to be able to sync the three items if that's feasible.

If you like your Samsung phone have a look at Samsung tablets. Not suggest you buy from this site but they are displayed well here:

About six months ago I bought an iPad mini from Asda for £169.00 and I absolutely love it.
It is lightweight enough to go in my handbag, and when I travel, I can download a pile of stuff from the BBC iplayer.
Keep an eye open on John Lewis. They often price match but also give you two years cover as well.

As a supplement to a real PC I can sort of see it. But I can't see it as a replacement. I get by with a "smart" phone and a real PC. I'd consider a tablet for the bedroom to watch films but their price and uninspiring resolution means I can't be tempted yet. IMO one needs at least a 10" screen to be comfortable viewing anything. The "smart" phone size is not ideal.
