Who, in your opinion, is the best live act you've ever seen?  And who, dead or alive, would you like to see?

The best gig was when I went to see Therapy? in Reading during their High Anxiety tour. My wife had just graduated that day and we had dragged a load of our mates out to see them play. Needless to say, a lot of new T? fans were born that night. And the Maxwell Twins didn't fight with each other for a whole two hours!

The worst gig I have ever seen was Terrorvision in Edinburgh during their Shaving Peaches tour. It was so awful that I spent most of the gig in a corner getting drunk (mind you my gf at the time had dumped me just after we had got there).....

my best is probably B B King at the albert hall a few years ago,  so good we named our dog lucille after his guitar.

Oasis were brilliant the three times i saw them,  but were poor at Glasto.  James were fab live, so were the Longpigs (anyone remember them?)

The best for me though were The Libertines before Pete left.

oh and i'd have loved to see The Stone Roses when they were good, and Joy Division.
my god, what a hard question!! I've seen so many live acts i doubt i could pick a fave! Twisted Sister were ace, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Madonna (Blonde Ambition Tour, my first ever gig!). Faith no More at Reading was heaven, Pitchshifter at their earlier gigs..  Surprisingly i totally enjoyed the Status Quo gig last year! Marilyn Manson always puts on a good stage show and Cradle of Filth always used to... Janes Addiction...Pantera...  ... I'll stop now or I'll just keep on for ages. I would also have like to have seen the original Guns n Roses line up (only seen the new one) BUT the 2 gigs i am most gutted I was not at were the G'n' R gig where Soundgarden and Faith No More supported and I'd loved to have seen Nirvana. Oh, and The Doors! And the Sex Pistols!  (Sprogglin, I remember the Longpigs!!)

The finest gig I've attended was the Pixies at the University of East Anglia in 1989 - the atmosphere really was electric that night. Finally caught up with them last year in Manchester but it wasn't quite the same.

I'll also give an honourable mention to My Bloody Valentine for a spine-chilling performance. Always seemed like we were just a hair's-breadth away from everything kicking off.

Joy Division - good call, sprogglin. Wouldn't have minded seeing the Stranglers with Hugh Cornwell.

By far the best live act I've seen is the chili peppers. I would love to have seen Led Zep, but I was a bit yopung at the time.....
mine is paul weller or rem (glastonbury 99). i would have loved to have seen the jam. too young when they were out and the nearest i have got is to see their tribute band the jamm who are really good
