bwedding song - bride entering

Anyone have any ideas on what song my wife-to-be can walk into the church to. We are looking for something different than the usual "here comes the bride" song. Must be classical or hymn type of a song, e.g Jerusalem etc etc.

How about Mozarts Piano Concerto No.20 II 'Romance'. It's beautiful yet different from the usual. It's what I walked down the aisle to at my wedding, even the name says it all! Good luck for the day!

Arrival of the Queen of Sheba- Handel, lots of people have that.
Meditation from Thais is nice.
Clair de Lune- Debussy, might be a bit slow but it's a lovely piece of music.
The Sleeping Beauty Waltz- Tchaikovsky, I've known people to walk down the aisle to that.

If it's a civil ceremony you must ensure that you do not use anything religious.

My advice is go to HMV/Virgin Megastore and buy some classical music samplers. HMV have always done these as an introduction in to classical music.

Sit at home with your inlaws and parents, open a bottle of wine and pay your wat through them.

You'll get a feel for the right tracks.

I assume you have your prelude music for the guests waiting for the wedding.

Choose - preludue music, arrival music, signing music and music to walk back out to.

Once you chosen the music please talk to the registrar, they generally know whats religous or not, but research it yourselves and get the buy in from the registrar.

I copied all the music on to seperate CD's with specific instructions to the venue.

For example, the prelude CD was to be played at a subdued volume level and the CD player set to REPEAT.

You may want to copy the chosen tracks a number of times if they are quite short.

I also gave the venue intructions to fade in and fade out the volume.

Give them two copies of every thing, and make sure the CD player can play your format of CD. For example CD-R or CD-RW...test...test...test.

The music is such an important part of the day.

I wanted Sadeness by Enigma but bottled it at the end, had Pachebels Canon instead. Have always regretted it.

There is a lovely quartet in four by Pachebel. Go to a good music shop and ask them which one Im talking about. It is quite well known - and beautifull! No voices though...only violins...
