my stepson is wanting to (for a gift) to hire a Tesla for a weekend for his dad. It costs £495 but excludes VAT & insurance. The models of available cars are
S 85K wh or model S performance 85kwh. Dont want to pay all that money to find out the insurance and VAT will be a fortune? As im female I dont have a clue!!! Does anyone have any idea what it could cost?

Surely the hire co will either provide this or know of someone who can help?
I would expect the insurance to be at least £1,000 plus VAT with a large cash security deposit required as well.Short term insurance is horrendously expensive.
It's a group 50 car (as high as it goes) so not going to be cheap that's for sure.
You'd need to give driver details for an accurate quote.

thankyou
Have you checked round for special weekend offers? We used to use them occasionally when we were in inner London as a nearby Hertz mostly rented to businesspeople during the week and slashed rates over the weekend.

(Sorry, that doesn't exactly answer your question.)
