How much more are we to be screwed for a service I thought came out of our Council Tax.

Does anybody else have to pay the extra?

yes, I pay for garden waste collection. used to compost everything but rats took up residence in the heaps even though they were only prunings and garden waste, nothing edible
Togo, Where do you live? I do know know any area where the council have not sub contracted the waste collection to a private company years ago.
Even our 'tip' is privately run now, they record your number plate as you drive in to make sure you do not make more than 3 trips a week.
murraymints, the councils are legally obliged to provide schools and libraries. Not so garden waste collections
We pay £45 pa to W Dorset DC for fortnightly collection. Money well spent, it's always full in the growing season and has saved us lots of trips to the dump.
