Just watched MU v. Shrewsbury and as the game dragged on to it's inevitable conclusion it occurred to me that I don't think I can recall ever seeing LVG in his technical area during his tenure at MU. Does he never bother or is it just me not seeing the times he does get up and direct his players from the technical area like every other manager I've ever seen including Sir Alex?

Such reluctance would suggest an aloof attitude to what's going on on the pitch and would really annoy me if I was a MU fan.

I took it in the light hearted banter it was meant, and I am a Man United supporter. I agree it is disgusting going back to the days of old throwing coins (Missiles) on the pitch.

He's always done it, a tortoise's eye view of the action.

Just to be clear you mean he's always not used the technical area?
Sorry Colm, yes, I can't ever recall seeing him use it. When he was the Dutch manager he usually remained seated.

Different coaches have their own foibles. Kenny Dalglish rarely sat down!
Maybe he afraid of getting hit with ball ?

A minority of one in terms of the EPL it seems. I must say I don't think it looks good, just like the previous Leicester manager's habit of sending himself off into the stands. When he stopped doing it the team played better and avoided relegation.
I once actually saw him whisper something to Ryan Giggs.
Question Author
Yes I saw that. I think it was when Ryan accidentally spat his chewing gum onto one of LVG's trouser legs!
And what's with all the folder-carrying business? Steve McClaren is the same.

Butthead takes training.
Togo, that's er, COOL huh-huh huh-huh ;)
Its notes about good players that showing too much skill on the pitch and not doing as they're told!
Lol ag my lad put me through hours of it and as for Ed, Edd and Eddie. Didn't mind Samurai Jack though. (watch the Ab Editor)
Togo, I remember a Beavis & Butthead episode where the latter was just observing the dials go round slowly on the gas meter!

As interesting as watching Man U in the EPL!!

Uncanny resemblance to a youthful LVG there Togo. Shame he's standing and not sat on his buttocks like LVG is every time the camera goes to him.
Besides, safer in the dugout. He would be prone to coins, rotten veg flying his way....
Question Author
Yes his ego is such an asset to the club that he'll only agree to leave if the fans try to take him out with gold coins!

MU fans can buy them on-line.

Seriously though he just isn't an EPL manager. He should never have been signed up for a roll he just isn't DNA enabled for. Might work elsewhere but not in the EPL. Let Giggs take over. Who knows the England captain's recovery might almost happen overnight!
Question Author
The throwing of coins is totally unacceptable and must be stopped.
Question Author
I apologise unreservedly for any comments I made that could be seen as encouraging fans to throw coins onto the pitch, and realise that my comments could have been taken as more than the light banter that they were in the spirit of and caused offence as a result.

I was wrong and I can only offer my most sincere apologies.
