Neighbours Bonfire V My Washing

It was a beautiful day here, bright and dry, and I managed to get three loads of washing on the line. Before the sun went down I went out to get it all in and low and behold the neighbour but one had decided to have a bonfire. This is three o'clock in the afternoon and the air is thick with it. Why not wait until dusk? I'm furious! The whole lot stinks and its too late to rewash it.

Tomorrow we're out all day and I'm back to work on Monday. Grrrr

I've hung it over a clothes horse in the spare room and lit an oil burner. Unless anyone has any better ideas?

Why not have a polite word with the neighbours? They may not realise that you work during the week and have only the weekend in which to do your washing. They may be retired/semi retired and burn their non-easily recyclable garden debris when the weather conditions are right, without meaning to offend. Having said that, if your houses are in close proximity and they can clearly see over into your garden at your washing line and still go ahead with their bonfires then do your worst!

blimey I thought it as bonfires before dusk
so everyone can see where it is if it gets out of control

I think the only answer is a shotgun - where do you live I shall watch the news

This is the probem as the weather gets better, more and more of these smelly things will appear !!
