Help - Bed Bugs!!
68 Answers
2 months ago my son kept waking up with bites all over his feet. Just couldn't work out what they were. Having never seen a bedbug in my life it didn't even occur to me. It was only when someone suggested it that I stripped his bed, couldn't see a thing. Then I pulled out the spare mattress underneath the bed and there they were! I was mortified as Ive always associated it with dirt, which im assured it isn't. Rang pest control who were brilliant. Said son has most probably brought them in from outside on a school bag or something. Sprayed entire room and floor below which is my bedroom ( he has loft conversion). unfortunately within days I was also woken up covered in bites and actually found 2 on my mattress. Very upset. Pest control have to leave 2 weeks inbetween sprays so they came back and did all rooms, infact they soaked them. To cut to the chase, they have now been FIVE times and are completely baffled as to why the treatment hasnt worked. My sons room seems to be free now as he no longer has any bites and they couldn't find a thing in his room. But im still getting bitten to death everynight even though I cant actually see any bugs anymore - theyre clearly a couple hidden somewhere. Its making my life a totally misery, im so sore. they've bitten my face, my neck, my arms lastnight and im so unhappy. I don't know what to do. Pest control say they've used the strongest treatmen possible. Help : (

To prove to the landlord they were real, a black guy fellow resident did what Ratter suggests only with a large piece of soap which had been left on a wet plate so it was soft on one face, when the whipped back the sheets, he swatted them with the bar of soap to which they became embedded.
They don't make movies like that anymore!

Ok guys. I'm at the absolute end of my tether now. After my last post I did take the torch to bed again. Kept checking bed and carpet every 30 mins and nothing till finally at 3am I saw a solitary bed bug walking across the carpet by the bed. Pest control came again on Monday and this guy was meant to re treat room but he decided to literally check every square inch of room with a flashlight . He even took the base off the bed. Checked rooms either side too. Said he couldn't find aingle sign of life but found 3 dead bugs on bed frame. Said he didn't want to keep.spraying chemical after chemical in room so asked me to get a steamer and steam every surface including bed. To remove all bed slats and put in Bath of boiling water and scrub. To. Hoover every inch. If still being bitten then they wud come out but admitted he was totally flummoxed. Haven't had chance to buy steamer yet as been at work but today is my birthday and am meant to be going out for a meal. Have woken up to bites all along my face, my eyebrow, my leg and my arm. I look a mess. Just want to cry..
I would suggest the guy use one of these http:// www.kil lgerm.c om/onli necatal ogue/co opex-ma xi-smok e-gener ator-84 82
immediately after a chemical spray treatment.
As for steam cleaning, I really dont think that will do anything at all.
I think I would just employ a Pest Control company (not the council) Rentokill are good but very expensive, many others in the area I'm sure, get a price for the treatment and ensure that the treatment is guaranteed.

Sounds gross, but I just couldn't figure out why it was just me getting bitten, and mainly on my face. Then my husband randomly observed that 9 out of 10 nights I ended up working late on laptop in lounge and falling asleep on sofa till the early hours, whilst he had gone up to bed at a normal hour! So, our sofa is really dark grey and black . I pulled it right out and got a torch , and went round all the seams etc and was absolutely mortified to find literally hundreds of teeny bugs. They were clearly coming out at night when I was asleep and biting me to death . Pest control came out and sprayed whole lounge including soaking the sofa. Not had a single bite since. Feel so dirty as that's what I associate them with, rightly or wrongly, and my home is so tidy and lovely and I still have no idea where they originally came from
