Windows 10 Query
I have an HP laptop running windows 10 - I've just come back from a few days away and now whenever I get a facebook post or want to look on Youtube via our sport's newspage at the competion I've just been in via a link sent by one of our members, I get a small dialogue box saying I need a driver update - is there any reason why this is necessary as am very chary about downloading stuff as am a total technophobe. Thank you

Have continued to run the clip for a while and it seems to continue, hence my concern.
and here is the usual suspects on another thread

I am not a W-10 lover and this happens quite a lot
but the small window is suspicious and I would cancel and then try to use what it is pointing to - that will tell you you need a driver
I have installed a spoof driver and didnt like it much
W - 10 also updates regularly - hooray ! no boo-bloody-hoo
and after one - there was no W-10 update for my lexmark so I had to throw it away and get a w-10 compatible one. This is a planned for event by the rich and famous apparently ....it makes Bill G richer and does you no good at all
after another update it had toggled the password switch - hey kiiiinky ! and I had to work out which password it was that it wanted - microsoft account actually before I could use it
and then how to untoggle it
according to the link I have given you
Togo finds W 10 queries so enervating and vapid and ridiculous
he hardly has the energy to read them ....let alone attend to them
anyway good luck

Thanks PP - will just give it a miss at the moment and see what happens - I get so confused with the various love/hate camps for windows 10 -as a non techie, lots of the arguments are way above my head anyway - I just want to fire my computer, talk to my family on skype send a few emails and fiddle about a bit basically. Think I'll go watch TV now! stay well

It's not a program I would have on my pc. I'd go to your laptops support site and see if they have any new drivers for you.

No need to run it rsvp. The clue is that it only pops up when you click a link on fbook or utube. Always use your eyes and head before mouse or keyboard. As long as you are running the w10 updates and have not let other security measures switch off defender yo are just fine. Although driver reviver does not appear to get poor reviews, they will eventually spam you out with "offers" once you have installed and run the 'free' scan. Which will find 19 out of 22 drivers out of date to scare you to death.
