I find giving the kitchen a good clean using bleach, caustic soda, and Mr. Muscle usually helps. Result - sparkling hob and surfaces and clean fingers !!
Failing that, my missus says she used to use toothpaste.
I think being more careful about how you hold it helps too.
What follows is not a joke or send up:
1.stick the nicotine finger in neck of bottle of neat household bleach (ENSURE NO CUTS ON SKIN)
2. invert bottle so finger is immersed in bleach (MAKING SURE NONE LEAKS ON TO YOUR CLOTHES)
3. leave finger in bottle for - say - 30 seconds
4. remove finger, rinse and dry
Nicotine should now be gone
I FEEL GUILTY ABOUT POSTING THIS - I QUIT SMOKING YEARS AGO. BUT IT WORKS
