Simple Mobile Phone
5 Answers
What would be the best mobile phone available at the moment for an elderly relative? It needs to be pretty straightforward, clear to read, and nothing matters apart from being able to make and receive calls, and send and receive text messages. She has been used to a very old Nokia, which has just died, so perhaps sticking with a Nokia may be a good idea? She has a pay as you go simcard.

Us 'oldies' prefer to stick with the older models (mine's a Nokia, too) because we don't can't cope with the new 'all singing, all dancing' phones & we don't want to take photos, read e-mails, watch films, etc. on our cell phones. You could visit a Nokia shop and see what the staff say.
Before you rush off how about http://www.comm8.com/html/emporia_life.html ??
Here's a Nokia 105 .. very basic and propably not unlike the old phone. This one is sim free therefore you wont need to get it unlocked...
