MP4 music files download from PC

help - bought an MP4/MP3 with crap instuctions (in spanglish!) Each time I download songs from my PC it asks for a file name which I give it - it then downloads & says complete - but I can't find the songs/file on the MP4. I understand you can't have more than 99 songs per file which i've adherd to - is it me or is this thing dodgey?

firstly mp4 is video not audio !

secondly,do you mean you dl songs to your pc from the internet or from your pc to your player ?
