I have an Acer Aspire One netbook running Windows 7 64 bit which has been lying unused for some time. I have charged it up and everything is working but I am having to use an external mouse as the pad won't work.
I have looked for a setting in the control panel but to be honest, I don't know exactly I am looking for. I have tried looking for 'mousepad' but it comes up with nothing.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks.

Trackpad or touchpad are other names but the settings (I believe) are all within the mouse option in control panel, possibly on other tabs within the mouse window
The touchpad is toggled on and off by pressing the 'Fn' key together with whichever key has a picture of a touchpad (in the same colour as 'Fn') on it. Looking at this image (for a similar model to yours)

it looks as if you might need to press F7 together with Fn.

I have tried 'Fn' with all of my F buttons without success. I have located the source of the programme though and there is a list of files but I cannot see an 'exe' file which I assume I would need to install separately. The separate items mainly open notepad with screeds of information which I cannot understand.
Getting frustrated now!
Try Control Panel > Mouse

One of the tabs across the top is labelled "touchpad". Select that and "enable".

I have found the acer aspire driver download page so fingers crossed that I will get the relevant file!
