I am scanning photos from a book - they come out as PDF. I convert them to Word documents, but I am unable to crop or edit them in Picture Manager.
Please can anyone help, or is there a simple solution that I don't know about. I am an 80 year old Luddite.
Many thanks

I've seen other users suggest downloading a free photoshop-style programme like Irfanview. However, i've had no experience of it myself, so it might be best to wait for a better informed answer.
If they are being created as pdf then that is a setting of your scanner software.

I'm against putting pictures into word - but thats because I need the original photo files in my job.

If you tell us what operating system (version of Windows or Mac) and what scanner and scanner software we can help.
IMO it'd be best not to save the original as PDF from the start. As PDF it is already encoded in an awkward to edit format.
