It's all nonsense!

In 1968 I was travelling in an RAF Lightning over the North Sea when we broke through the sound barrier. I didn't hear a thing! :-)
You are the only person who didn't, NJ
There's holes blown in my t'interweb and I'm in Lancashire.
My daughter, near Tadcaster, has just rung to see if we are OK or, like her, in a state of shock! I feel a bit cheated now :( . Apparently, everyone was out in the street, someone's loft-hatch fell down, stuck windows blew open etc...

More seriously, one of her cats has run away although she coaxed the other back. She was going out again looking for it. Dog is cowering in her basket.
Yes we did in east Leeds, BBC Look North say it was two Typhoon jets from RAF Coningsby Lincs. giving out sonic boom, seems most of Leeds heard it.
I am glad I am nowhere near that, my little dog would probably have a heart attack, she jumps when i put my mug on the coffee table
Maybe she's just objecting to you not using a coaster, PeelerPal.
That could be it dougie but my mrs would beat me within an inch of my life if i marked her coffee table
No, but I've had a few...
I'm in Tadcaster Jourdain and I thought it was an explosion. It had the opposite effect in my cats. They flew in. It was very loud and there were two explosions.
With disastrous devastating results, a pudding manufatory blew up and spewed hot dough upon the Dales, and Mrs. Dale has made a notation in her diary.
In fact, when it happened, I was ambling across a well know moor, and the wind from the explosion blew me bloomin' hat off by gum!
Happened in Northants a few weeks back. I thought they'd been a car crash outside my house.

"The Ministry of Defence has confirmed that a sonic boom heard in Northamptonshire was caused by two Typhoon aircraft launched to identify an “unresponsive” private jet."

Yes, right overhead, East Yorkshire here.
“You are the only person who didn't, NJ”

Alas I was not flying the aircraft (if only!). But the Flight Lieutenant who was didn’t hear it either, so that’s good enough for me!
