Double Mastectomy

As some of you know a friend of mine had the above and to her utter dismay one of the breast nurses told her to go to M&S or Debenhams for a measure of a new bra.

She said she didn't want an ordinary assistant looking at her and so she needs to go to perhaps a "specialised" assistant.

Anybody tell me what to tell her where to go for this measurement. Thanks all.

M&S sell mastectomy bras so I assume they have trained staff for fittings.
She has had implants JJ?

My Mum was told the same (single mastectomy). She never bothered in the end and just used her normal bras. The assistants will certainly have experience of dealing with post op women - heaven knows there are plenty of them about. http://www.marksandspencer.com/l/lingerie/bras/post-surgery-bras-n-c04d1
Conn. M&S are very good at doing fittings following mastectomies.

thanks Ummmm - maybe she needs to make an "appointment" with one. Will tell her.

No Bathy - she is not going for implants. Wants to wear a bra (with poppers??? inserted) for a "bit of a shape".

thanks for other replies -
Debenhams offer a fitting service -

Scroll down to "Our free bra fit service" & the list of applicable stores.
I'm going to be going to M&S in the next few days. I'll see what the service is like regarding post op bras.

Lieking - that's a good link because I have a feeling that she likes to buy her bras from Debenhams.

Do think her own bras would suffice meantime. Thanks

Ah, I see. Yes, I would agree M+S would be best place for her, but I would ring them first to set an agreed appointment, then she wouldn't be going on the specialist's day off or hol.
