Windows 10
4 Answers
I have windows 7 on my laptop. I do not want windows 10, my laptop will eventually need replacing and at that time I will no doubt buy the windows 10 version but I am happy with what I have now. I only use my computer for internet browsing, storing photos and writing. I am concerned that windows 10 may install without me requesting it. I check that no instillation is scheduled and my computer is shut down after every session. If I disable automatic updates will this prevent any sly instillation? alternatively what harm would I be doing by disabling updates? I have read of downloads to stop windows 10-how safe are they and are they easy to use?
Many thanks

Just install the ones marked as security updates. Hide all the others. I've found that there are a few that are Windows 10 related and can be uninstalled if you have them. This should stop the upgrade process starting for those of us who are not tech savvy. KB3035583 is the main one. Search on net for the others and how to uninstall them. Do not have time or space here to do that.

Go to 'Installed Updates' and look for KB3035583 and uninstall it. Then look for 'Available Updates' find KB3035583 again, right click on it and you get the option to 'Hide Update' , then click on 'Hide Update'
There may be a Windows' Pane' icon if so hide that as well.
This is what I have done and I get no prompts to install W10.
If you do decide you want W10 sometime just do the same but click 'Unhide'
