lump worry

hey there erm i have found this kinda lump thing on one side of my neck its tender to touch and have just noticed it this eve....anyone any idea if it could be anything ??

go straight to the doctors and ask him to check it out, both my sisters found lumps on their neck, one had cancer and one was a fatty tissue deposit

could just be a swollen gland. does it move if you push it about? if its still there in the morning, get it checked out but you will probably, hopefully, just wake up with the beginnings of a cold :) get some sleep and drink lots of fluid x

I had one too - swollen gland - but nattab is right - check it out a.s.a.p. Always best to be on the safe side. Funnily enough, my sister has one of these as well - hers comes and goes and is particularly prominant when she has a cold - its sore and tender to touch and grows quite hard - when the cold finishes it goes away.

Sounds odd but its usually a good thing if the lump is tender. Also it sounds as though it 'came up' pretty quick? which is also a good sign. Most likely it is just a swollen lymph node, related to a harmless infection. As you've said an examination would be a good idea.

hey steve, glad to see u again. if youve been stressed out recently (which from recent posts you probably have) then youre probably prone to getting some nasties, might be swelling due a cold, or just a swollen gland like already mentioned, best to get it checked out none the less
