connecting a pc and a mac

hi i have a mac and a pc and am connecting them via a ethernet cable...is it possible to get internet access via the pc to the mac with the cable and if so how would i do it...thanks

if the cable is directly plugged into both machines, you need a crossover cable (or a crossover adapter).

Then you can ask the PC to share its connection, it's somewhere in the network settings but I don't know precisely, I suppose it depends on the OS you are using.
