Activating Windows 10

I downloaded Windows 10 about a year ago but I have never been able to activate it, I always get this window come up....http://tinypic.com/m/jj1izl/4

I also have a constant reminder to activate windows 10 in bottom right hand corner.

Windows7 Pro was on this PC when I bought it 2nd hand, I think the problem may be due to the download being a Windows 10 Pro version.

Will I be able to activate it somehow and what will happen when the free download offer ends, will my PC just stop working or what?

Thanks Chris, it didnt work though, when I put in the CMD prompts it says I need "elevated privileges" I am logged in as administrator, so I dont know what to do now.

Click 'Start'.
Type 'cmd' in the search box.
RIGHT-click on 'cmd' in the programs list above it.
Select 'Run as administrator'.

Peter, I have been using Windows 10 for best part of 12 months with no problems at all.

I tend to agree with you, Peter. Despite this, I have just installed it for the second time, as time is running out for it to be free and from what I hear, this Windows 10 will be the last. So, I am giving it another go. Maybe this time I will get to grips with it a bit better.

Ive been trying for best part of a year. I think maybe it is due to the original version of Windows 7 on this PC being a bit hookey or something. I may just have to buy a new key from Microsoft.
