So my mums birthday a few days ago and my sister took her out for a steak at lunch, nothing wrong with that at all... I took her for afternoon tea (both meals cost about the same). I went round to my sister's today and saw a Thankyou card from mum to her saying "Thankyou for the best birthday ever, love you" I said to my mum " this is nice, thanks for my card" (being sarcastic) Mum said, oh I forgot to get two cards.....

Am I right to feel offended by this?

I try so very very hard not to have rivalry between my children.
My mum and I had a falling out about 8 years ago. I didn't think it was a big deal but unbeknown to me she changed her will and cut me out of it. 2 years later she developed breast cancer aged 59. My brother, sister and I all looked after her equally and i personally shared some very special days with her. She was always a difficult woman, and an alcoholic. 3 months before she died she changed her will again and included me so everything would be split 3 ways again. I again knew nothing of this. When she died my brother took great joy in telling me that I'd been written out originally . I told him it didn't matter - I still loved her. No idea what he hoped to gain by telling me
My granddad did the same to my mum but he never changed his will back. Her siblings didn't tell her though.
Do you know why he did that ummmm?
They fell out because my mum put my nan in a care home. She had dementia and he's wasn't very mobile so it became too dangerous for her.
Sounds like your mum didn't have a choice x
She didn't. He would have been peed off about how much it cost. He ended going into a home a year or so later and loved it.
Ironic lol
