A Big Disappointment
14 Answers
As I gaze out of my window at my neighbours' washing hanging on the lines it is a real disappointment that it looks nothing like the ads. No billowing white sheets and brightly coloured clothes that have obviously been ironed and pressed before hanging out, rather dingy towels and grey school uniforms, interspersed with sad apple catcher knickers.

My net curtains are pristine, obviously. We have them only at the back of the house because it is south facing and they stop the sun bleaching the carpets and furniture. When I took them down recently they were a disgrace where the sun had discoloured them - they've been replaced and I've invested in a goodly amount of Glo White. :D

One of my relatives is not on friendly terms with her neighbour. They fell out ages ago and cannot stand each other. However, my relative does concede that her neighbour is a 'good washer and she hangs the clothes nicely'. Praise indeed.
She never says that to me, she just moans about my twirly line not being perfectly vertical!
