Is France About To Take Sensible Action?
142 Answers
FRENCH Prime Minister Manuel Valls says the country is to shut down certain mosques, cut foreign funding and police the content delivered in sermons in a massive crackdown on Islamic fundamentalism.
Meanwhile, former French president Nicolas Sarkozy has demanded every person suspected of being involved in terrorism be placed under house arrest.
And he said accessing jihadi websites should be made a crime similar to that of paedophiles who view and distribute content online.
France is also considering legislation that will allow it to remove and expel dual national citizens.

Perhaps curtailing the building of more Mosques is a security issue. The existing ones would seem to have become a hotbed of radical indoctrinati on and terrorist radicalisati on which mean valuable resources are tied up monitoring what is going on. Why would the French, or indeed any Country that faces this conundrum encourage even more of the same...

Naomi- although it goes without saying I will add that of course I feel that the strongest possible action should be taken against those who cause or encourage radicalisation and terror and anyone suspected should be put inder much closer surveillance than has been the case.

Would that action not bracket any ABer who merely posted Koran extracts which, for example, preach the three-way choice of conversion, subjugation-with-taxation, or death for non-Muslims?
As you may, by now, have come to realise, Naomi, vetuste and others do not acknowledge that "radical Islam" is a distinct entity. "Peaceful Muslims" may exist but, perhaps, they're just the ones who aren't doing it right.
I can't locate the source at present but there may be a Koran passage which preaches peace but the "wider context" (ho, ho) for that is "when outnumbered". Specifically, during the many years it took to infiltrate Mecca and gain converts. As soon as they were confident of superior numbers, they attacked and captured the city.
I dare say Sun Tzu, writing circa 1000 years before Mohammed would have advised the same placatory approach.
Diplomacy is for weak, outnumbered nations and cultures, simply trying to keep their folk alive, while they multiply their numbers. When you've got numbers on your side, you get to throw your weight around, politically.
I admit Imperialism is an ugly thing; I just don't want to be on the receiving end of it.
