Obviously there isn't one single news source without some level of bias (conscious or unconscious), but that doesn't mean that "try the Express instead" is a pretty awful way of responding to the problem of bias. As an obvious case in point you need look no further than their report following the Bank of England's interest rate cut and growth forecast update in August (see below). Now, independent of whether or not you agree with the results in the report itself, what certainly is true is that the report predicts a reduction in economic growth compared to forecasts made prior to the referendum in April. Therefore, the headline, "Brexit expected to reduce economic growth compared to previous forecast in following two years" would be an accurate, if dry, reflection of the statements made in the report. On the other hand, "Brexit BOOM" clearly implies the exact opposite effect to the one that was predicted, and so is massively inaccurate and downright dishonest, not just biased.
Now, which one of those headlines did the Express go for, I wonder?
