Garden Shrubs.

My cousin has a shrub which has cherry size berries which are green to start with then turn yellow then red,anyone have any ideas what it could be??

Sounds like they could be cherry plums.

One that seems to fit the bill in my book, would be the Myrobalan plum (Prunus cerasifera) also known as 'Cherry Plum' of which there are several garden varieties.
Its more of a shrub than a tree and therefore makes an excellent hedging shrub.
