Dizzy spells.....

I've been having lots of headaches & a strange sensation on the right side of my head for some time now. I've also been having dizzy spells since 12 May. The doc gave me a steriod nasal spray to help with my sinuses & balance - but all to no avail.

I am still having dizzy spells on getting out of bed, when getting up from the settee, etc., & yesterday had to hold onto things in the garden for fear of falling over. I can only explain that the dizziness feels like I'm going under anesthetic.

I've just been to see another Doc, who said my face looks slightly swollen on one side & that there is blood down in my right ear. She has asked me to go to the hospital this afternoon, after she has spoken to a Consultant there.

Has anyone else had dizzy spells, or had bleeding in the ear? If so what was the cause please. I know everyone's different & I shall find out later, but I'm just interested to know.

Well done smudge so glad it's nothing too serious. Thanks for that link, I am suffering from many of those symptoms, so hopefully the neurologist will have heard of this labby thing - just my luck to get thrown into the local madhouse without a second opinion.

Thank you gesso.

So sorry to hear you had a bad night, 'specially after having a nice walk yesterday - sounds lovely around where you live. Hope the tablets work & that you'll soon be feeling much better. -xx-

Thank you neti - I'm glad you found that site helpful.

Hope you'll soon get sorted out at the hospital & will be feeling much better.

I know what you mean about the madhouse! I thought there might be something wrong with my grey matter, but after having all the tests yesterday, they ruled out anything neurological, thank goodness.

I've taken two lots of Betahistine so far, but had to steady myself before getting off the bed this morning, as the room was going round! Hoping they'll kick in really soon tho'.

I'm off into the garden now, so hope you & gessoo will both have a lovely day. -xx-

I meant gessoo, not gesso in my first post - p'raps the grey matter isn't so grey after all!!!!

Thank goodness you have it sorted and I bet you feel all the better for knowing what it is - cos sometimes the worry can exacerbate the symtoms - enjoy the relief now:)

Neti - Hope you can get youreself better soon - But (on the QT) - I wouldnt going about saying it could be that labby thing - could be misheard and misinterpereted - LOL.!!!Have a good day:)

Thank you too Drisgirl - yes I do feel quite relieved today & glad I can look forward & get on with things in a more positive way.

My husband, daughters & sister who knew, are very relieved too, as they'd all noticed how preoccupied I'd been lately.

Your words to Neti did make me laugh - have a lovely day too! -xx-

Oooh Good News Smudge - glad you've got a diagnosis. You'll feel like s**t for a while but will improve every day. Now you can be at peace knowing that whilst it feels awful its harmless and not life-threatening - you WILL get back to nornal in time. Dol x

Hi Dollie, thankyou for your good wishes too.

All I hope is that the Betahistine tablets will improve the situation & make the dizzy spells disappear for good - very soon!

Have a lovely day! -xx-
