If an athlete breaks a world record at the olympics does it break the olympic record and the athletes national record?

yes because a world record is just that : the best in the world
at least I think so !
world record stands regardless of the event. The OR is the best at the Olympics and is quite often also the WR. National records are the best for that nation and can also be OR and/or WR, eg Usain Bolt has the 100m Jamacian record, it also happens to be WR and OR.
