Are the BBC struggling that much for programmes that they have to keep showing the foul mouthed Brendan O'Carroll as this awful woman. It really isn't funny and the language only makes it less so,if that's possible.

I love Mrs Browns Boys, its very funny! Strictly, Bake Off, Would I lie to You, Have I Got News, The Chase, are also compulsive viewing for me. Also, BBC4 has a lot of excellent documentaries on music etc, well worth tuning in for.
I don't like Mrs Brown and I agree with mikey about PBS America, great TV There's one doing the rounds about the mine wars in Appalachia in the early 1900's.Made our little mining dispute look like a tea party.
Paddy....I especially PBS's programs about the Amish people recently....very gentle and non-sensational. I can almost say that I enjoy PBS America more than I enjoy the Beeb !
There used to be a good clip on utube that ran for about 10'minutes called THe counselling .Now that was funny but can't seem to find it anymore .
Hornblower, sharpe, and silent witness, value for money
....well, two out of those three were on ITV...so VERY good value.
