Aura Migraine
13 Answers
At about 4.00pm, I had a horrible aura migraine which lasted for about twenty minutes. As a result, I felt nauseous and debilitated. I now have an painful neck and shoulders. I feel strangely disorientated and odd.
Usually, when it happens to me, I resort to the sofa and sleep but if I do that now, I won't be able to sleep when I go to bed.
Will ibuprofen help?

Usually if I have been pushing a trolley of stock then had to race the length of the store to serve someone . I often have one eye obliterated with zigzags and have to squint at the till screen. It usually subsides after two paracetamol. Just have to get on with the job til it goes.
I heard a really good explanation on the radio about migraines by a female doctor some years ago. Apparently your digestion stops during a migraine, any food in your stomach stays there and it may want to eject it. That's that's why you feel sick or have the runs. It's also the reason why taking pain killers don't work once it's kicked in, they simply don't get absorbed. Thankfully I don't have as many since I was put on a preventative (atenolol). Pleased you feel better Tilly, migraine 'hangovers' are horrendous too.
