ive seen so much in online titles that you can purchase from 30 up to seated titles of 1000.00 pounds ie: lord, baroness, sir ,duke etc . are these titles for real, can you become a lord overnight or is it just a ploy to con you. i always thought you had to have been born into a family who had a hereditary title. how does this work and is it legal?

You can buy things where you are 'Lord of the Manor' but that would not entitle you to call yourself Lord somebody, nor would you be able to sit in the House of Lords.
how much did you pay for your name lady-p-gold?lmao

You could always change your forename by Deed Poll instead !! The greatest expense then would be for a new passport. ;-)

Sorry, I can't give you an answer fleckboy, but I did wonder this myself. I had thought about getting my Dad one as birthday pressie, you know a bit of a joke thing, but it's a tad expensive if it is just that, a waste of money. It said it was the deed to a square foot plot of land, okay so not exactly an estate, but it was somewhere that's special to him, so it sounded cool. Hope someone can provide some info.
hahaha I never thought of that when I posted !!!!!
