I was very unpopular when working in benefits as I was paying out too much..backdating claims and making sure everyone got as much as they were entitled to......however my office was the happiest and most attended by clients..and I was always awash with flowers etc.....I and my staff were there to help not to obstruct which it sadly seems to be the norm nowadays
shame they aren't all like you ,one woman after been told on the phone what had happened said to my daughter at the end of the call enjoy the rest of your day .
"I think the fuel allowance is paid separately because it is limited to £200 per couple - my wife used to get £200 until I retired, now we get £100 each"
Until you or your partner are over 80 then its £200. i.e. the first one to reach 80 gets £200, the partner if under 80 gets £100...if your both 80 its £150 each £300 per household.
