I know what you mean about the extra dancers. Some managed the choreography better than others when they weren't in the frame as much watching the main dancing.
It can help show up the celebrity too I think as I thought it did with Claudia's as it highlighted her lower level of dance ability compared to all the professionals rather than it being focussed on her ability as a dancer.

Just watched the dance off.The BBC's insistance in keeping Ed Balls on to help them in the ratings war is going to ruin their Saturday flagship show.The Judges realise it but can't say anything.So come on BBC it's time for Ed to go before the decent dancers start being in the dance off while he's still there.
I don't think Ed is great, someone's voting for him though and I thought, what a gent saying he's happy to have another week to show off his partner's choreography skills, not how better he was getting, I was also surprised by Jim Kerr, I've not seen Simple Minds in years and tried to joggle my brain to think "who sings that song", wow, he's changed
