Washing machine door

Help! My washing machine door won't shut. I try and close it but it just stays open... Any ideas what could be wrong?

When I had this problem, I noticed that the screws on the door hinges had worked loose. Try tightening them up & see what happens. Good luck Scarlett.

You may find the door seal has become unseated.

Could be the latch has broken on the inside of the surround - 'specially if it's a plastic one (do you 'slam' the door rather than using the lever?).

They are usually replaceable, depending on the make and model, and most spares places can get them and/or fit them for you, if you can't do the latter yourself.

I'd agree with Simeon. Before every wash I have to put the seal back in place. Pain in the arse.
