Reaver???

I first heard about the 'reaver' in a PC game 'Legacy of Kain' (being a sword in that game) so I was wondering where does the word 'reaver' originate from and what does it mean?(I don't think Crystal Dynamics and Eidos actually came up with that word to use it in the game... or did they?) ps. I don't speak english so don't make fun of me if it's just a common word ok?

And it's far from being a common word. I expect the designers were looking for an old or unusual word for it ; it sounds more ancient and exotic than a normal word for it.

specifically it was used to denote cross-border or cross clan raiders in the scottish margins. 1400s or so.

The word is often spelt "reivers", particularly for the cattle raiders Incitatus mentions. You may find more by looking in a dicitionary under that spelling.
